Autumn car

Name of the wagon followed by the group of harvesters at the festival at the end of the grape harvest (autumn). Each farm decorated its cart with flowers, vine leaves and ribbons. The procession went from the vineyard to the house, with different local characters such as autumn decorations or autumn snippets playing a fun role. The custom of the autumn carriage, which is cultivated in many wine-growing regions of Germany and Austria, is one of the few that have survived. See also under autumn.
