The Atacama Desert stretches along the Pacific coast of South America between the cities of Tacna in southern Peru and Copiapó in northern Chile, over a distance of around 1,200 kilometres. It is also known for the Paranal Astronomical Observatory on Cerro Paranal mountain. The desert with some geysers and salt lakes is one of the driest areas in the world. Nevertheless, favoured by the coastal fog between the Chilean towns of Copiapó and La Serena, grapes are grown, which are mainly used for the production of table grapes and the distillate Pisco.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
