The winery is located in the municipality of Höflein near Bruck/Leitha in the Carnuntum wine growing region (Lower Austria). The roots of the family go back to the year 1650, which has been farming since then. A managed Heuriger established in the old farmhouse was opened in 1994. At Vienna since 1996 the "Restaurant Wieden" in the 4th district and since 2008 the "Restaurant Franziskanerplatz" in the 1st district are operated. The business is run by Hannes, Peter and Christoph Artner. The vineyards comprise 40 hectares of vineyards in the areas Bühlweingarten, Kirchberg, Kirchtal, Kirchweingarten, Satzl, Scheibner and Steinäcker. Two thirds of them are planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, BlaufränkischCabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, as well as a third of the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Gelber Muskateller.
Long before the boom, which only began later, wines were already being aged in barriques or experimented with in 1987. The red wines are aged in French barriques (new, used and also mixed) or classically in large wooden barrels. Special attention is given to the varieties Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt. The white wines are vinified with a fruity accent. The flagship of the house is the red wine cuvée "Amarok" (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Syrah - 18 months in barrique). Other premium wines are the white wine Chardonnay massive a. (12 months barrique, 2 months stainless steel), Blauer Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum (11 months barrique) and Syrah Ried Kirchtal Reserve (18 months barrique). In years suitable for the weather, sweet wines like Trockenbeerenauslese are also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, the port wine-like "Portuguese Love", noble brandies(marc, fruit), grape juice and vintner chocolate are also produced. The wines are exported to many European countries, as well as to the USA and Asia. The winery is a member of the Rubin Carnuntum Weingüter and Traditionsweingüter Österreich wine associations.
