The white grape variety is a new variety Riesling (Roter Riesling) x Courtiller Musqué Précoce (Muscat Précoce de Saumur). Synonyms are Aroma Riesling, Riesling Aromat, Riesling Aromatique, Ryzlink Aromaticky and Ryzlink Zlaty. The cross was made by the breeder Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar (Alsace, France). The same parents also gave rise to the variety Frühriesling. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
