There are several grape varieties of this name:
This white grape variety is a new breeding between Muscat d'Hamburg x Ciclopica. Synonyms (or breeding numbers) are I.P. 393 and Pirovano 393. The cross was made in 1929 in Italy at the research centre in Rome by the Italian breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The berries have a muscat tone. The variety is used as wine grape and table grape. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
Former name of the grape variety Zweigelt Stella; see there.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
