single vineyard in the municipality of Michelbach (Mainviereck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The southwest-facing vineyard with a slope of 30 to 40% covers ten hectares of vineyards on primary rock soil with mica slate. It is criss-crossed by dry stone walls and stone dumps. To the west, it offers an impressive view over the Maine plain. The vineyard has been a listed building since 1985. The varieties cultivated here include Riesling and Silvaner. The wineries Heilmann Franz and Höfler Bernd, for example, have shares in the site.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
