Alvar Branco

The white grape variety originates from Portugal. Nothing is known about the ancestry (parentage) as well as a possible genetic relationship to the Alvar Roxo variety with reddish berry colour. It is grown in small quantities in the Alentejo area and in the Centro region. In 2016, 0.2 hectares of vines were identified (Kym Anderson).
