The winery is located in the municipality of Monzingen in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. Viticulture has been practised for several generations. Today it is run by Eckhard and Holger Alt, with three generations active. The vineyards cover just under eight hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Frühlingsplätzchen, Halenberg and Rosenberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Dunkelfelder, Domina and Cabernet Dorsa. The vineyards are carefully tended by hand. Balanced cover crop ensures healthy soils. The grapes, which are picked selectively by hand, are processed gently. The wines are matured sensitively and slowly in stainless steel or barrique. In years with suitable weather conditions, noble sweet wines are also vinified. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (wine, yeast), grape liqueur, grape seed oil and wine jelly are also produced.
