The champagne house with its headquarters in Epernay was founded in 1864. It is part of Gratien, Meyer, Seydoux & Cie, which also markets Loire sparkling wines. Today the company is owned by the German multinational Henkell. The founder of the company coined the phrase: "I have always believed that champagne should be to wine what haute couture is to fashion" There are no vineyards. For the most part, they produce very dry champagne. Fermentation takes place in small barrels without malolactic fermentation, which is good for longevity. The proportion of Pinot Meunier is relatively high to bring in fruitiness and spice. The Cuvée de Prestige is called "Cuvée Paradis" and is a vintageless blend from the best sites. The total production is voluntarily limited to 250,000 bottles per year.
