The winery is located in the municipality of Fellbach in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. The family's long wine-growing tradition can be traced back to 1492, when "Bentz der Aldinger" was already growing vines here. Gerhard Aldinger married Anneliese Aldinger (née Pflüger) in 1955 and decided to convert his father-in-law's wooden cooperage, which had existed until then, into a winery. Another milestone in the history was the acquisition of the legendary Untertürkheimer Gips vineyard in 1973. Gert Joachim Aldinger is known as the "King of the Kappelberg". With the cultivation of international grape varieties and the radical reduction of yields, he has decisively shown a new direction. Today, the winery is run by the 16th generation of the family, his sons Hansjörg Aldinger and Matthias Aldinger.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
