The winery is located in the municipality of Eltville-Rauenthal in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. It was founded in 1928 by Jacob Albus as a pure winegrowing business. Today it is run in the third generation by Dietmar and Beate Albus, who are supported by their two sons Stefan and Matthias as well as daughter Christina. The wines have been marketed under their own management since the 2006 vintage. The vineyards cover six hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Langenstück, Rothenberg and Wülfen (Rauenthal). They are 95% planted with Riesling and Pinot Noir. In every second row, a permanent cover crop is carried out with seeding in the open alley in spring. Quality measures include short pruning and targeted defoliation. After fermentation with pure yeasts, the wines are stored for a long time on the full lees with weekly stirring and later bottling. They are matured in stainless steel or wooden barrels. Premium wines are "Edition Stefan trocken" and "Spätlese trocken" (Old Vines). Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and sparkling wines (Rheingauer Leichtsinn) are also produced.
