The white grape variety is an interspecific new breed between (Ten Dollar Prize x Norton) x Herbemont. It contains genes from Vitis aestivalis, Vitis cinerea, Vitis lincecumii and Vitis vinifera. The crossbreeding of the hybrid took place in the USA by the US botanist Thomas Volney Munson (1843-1913). The late ripening vine produces spicy white wines that resemble the taste of Gewürztraminer. It is cultivated in the central southern USA in several states. However, in 2016, no stock was reported (Statistics Kym Anderson).
