The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between(Ten Dollar Prize x Norton) x Herbemont. It contains genes from Vitis aestivalis, Vitis cinerea, Vitis lincecumii and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in the USA by the American botanist Thomas Volney Munson (1843-1913). The late maturing vine produces spicy white wines that resemble Gewürztraminer in taste. It is cultivated in the central south of the USA in some states. In 2016, however, no stock was recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
