Acid play

Description for a nuanced, spicy (mostly) white wine with piquant acidity in the context of a wine evaluation or wine address. In this case, the acids contained in the wine are well balanced in relation to the other components that can be perceived in terms of taste. The impression of a "constantly changing play" (acid play) is created. Related positive terms depending on the acidity are fine-acidic, lively, nervy, racy, tangy, tart, acidic, tangy and steely. Negative terms for too high acidity are aggressive, acetic, edgy, sour or sharp, which can indicate a wine defect. See also under sour wine.
