The winery is located in the municipality of Böchingen (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The French border is only 25 kilometres to the south. The winery has existed in its current form since 1987. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Biengarten (Frankweil), Herrenberg (Nußdorf), Hölle (Gleisweiler), Münzberg (Godramstein), Rosenkranz (Böchingen) and Schäwer (Burrweiler). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Heroldrebe and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties St. Laurent, Portugieser, Pinot Noir and Merlot. Organic viticulture is consistently practised according to the guidelines of the Bioland association. The winery is also a founding member of the "Club of European Organic Wine Estates"
