The white grape variety originates from Turkey. Synonyms are D'Asimy, Dorbli di Barkia, Gemre Pembe, Granazza, Halawani, Halawani Haba Kabera, Hilouani, Kokkino Veriko, Kyprou Mavro, Pembe Gemre, Uva Turca, Verico, Veriko, Veryko and Veryko Kyprou. The parentage is unknown. The rosy-berry variety is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
